The Kovács Gábor Art Foundation

The Gábor Kovács Art Foundation was established in 2003 in Budapest. The current president of the board of trustees is Tímea Kalmár.
The Foundation's mission: to make a voluntary social cause a success; to achieve that the domestic public becomes more open to contemporary arts.

Our mission’s stated goals are the following:

1.    To increase appreciation for the arts, especially the fine arts
2.    To promote talented young artists
3.    To create an internationally recognized contemporary art collection consisting mostly of Hungarian works of art.

The Foundation's collection currently contains more than 3,000 works, which are exhibited in different selections from time to time.

The Foundation is associated with the organization of both contemporary and classical exhibitions, including the Friss exhibitions for young artists, Lajos Gulácsy, Béla Kondor, Lajos Szalay, Ödön Márffy, Tibor Csernus and Zsuzsa Péreli, as well as the presentation of the art of Hungarian Impressionism. The Museum - Avenue exhibition at the Hungarian National Museum, presenting 150 years of Hungarian painting, was also a great success.
